Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 17, 2026

1. Introduction

Smookie Live ("we", "our", "us") operates the smookie.live platform, an educational and shopping live streaming service. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

2. Information we collect

  • Account information: username, email address, and password (or your Google account identifier if you sign in with Google).
  • Profile content: avatar, stream titles, descriptions, thumbnails, and any content you upload when going live or listing an item for sale.
  • Transaction data: token balance, purchases, gifts sent, and auction/fixed-price purchases made on the platform.
  • Seller information: if you apply to become a seller, we collect your shop name, description, and — for sellers aged 13 to 17 — parental/guardian consent details as required by our Teens policy.
  • Technical data: IP address, browser type, device information, and usage data (pages visited, streams watched, viewer counts) collected automatically.
  • Camera and microphone: when you go live from Studio, we access your camera/microphone only with your explicit browser permission, solely to broadcast your stream.

3. How we use your information

  • To create and manage your account, and authenticate you (including via Google Sign-In).
  • To operate live streaming, chat, token purchases, gifting, and the live shopping marketplace (auctions and fixed-price listings).
  • To process payments through our payment provider and prevent fraud.
  • To moderate content and enforce our Terms of Service and Community Guidelines.
  • To send you service-related notifications (ticket replies, seller approval status, etc.).
  • To improve the platform through aggregated, anonymized usage analytics.

4. How we share your information

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with:

  • Service providers that power the platform: Supabase (database and authentication), Cloudinary (image storage and delivery), Agora (real-time video streaming), Vercel (hosting), and our payment processor for token purchases.
  • Other users — your username, avatar, and public stream/shop activity are visible to anyone viewing your live streams or listings, by design.
  • Legal authorities when required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, and property of Smookie Live or its users.

5. Data retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. Stream recordings are not stored after a stream ends unless you upload a thumbnail, which is kept until you delete it or your account is deleted. You can request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting support.

6. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise these rights, contact us via a support ticket in your account or at the contact details below.

7. Children and teen sellers

Smookie Live is not directed at children under 13. Users aged 13 to 17 who wish to become sellers must complete our special teen application process, which requires verifiable parental or guardian consent — see our Teens on Smookie Live policy for details.

8. Security

We use industry-standard measures to protect your data, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), access-controlled databases, and secure authentication. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. International transfers

Our service providers may process data in countries other than your own. We rely on their respective safeguards and compliance certifications for such transfers.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page with a new "Last updated" date. Continued use of Smookie Live after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
